The beach isn’t all fun and games all the time, sometimes you end up having to deal with jellyfish, sharks, lava rocks, coral, the currents, etc. etc. ad nauseam.
Sometimes you’ll even have to worry about the fish swimming in the water, but outside of a certain urethra crawling little fish or piranha that’s generally not a concern on anyones mind. Of course there are things in the water you’d never want to come across, but hardly anyone stops to take in the smaller fish into account. Many of these minuscule swimmers carry sharp spines to help ward off any number of their predators, and every once in a while humans will get caught in the crossfire.
This young woman was enjoying herself out at the beach in Copacabana, Brazil when she suddenly felt a sharp, stabbing sensation in her leg. After attempting (and failing) to shake it off in the water she had to make her way back to shore. Once she was out of the water she noticed she hadn’t been stung by a jellyfish or anything like that, she’d literally been stabbed by one of the spines on a very small fish! Both because of the water and the way the spine tears the skin on it’s way out there’s blood all around the area, but at least it wasn’t a shark. It takes her friends a while to actually remove the little guy before they could wrap her leg up.
